He's up to 3 pounds 3 ounces. He dropped about an ounce. But they told us it is normal for them to fluctuate a little. He's up to 28mL of formula every 3 hours I believe is what they told Daniel and his oxygen is down to a liter a day. So he's doing really well. He's been moved to a new pod so he is in pod 4 instead of pod 1 now. We aren't really sure why they switch the babies around in the pods and forgot to ask. Right now I am sick so I can't go see him and I miss my baby. It's really hard to be here and have him there. But I have a touch of the flu or something because my entire body hurts like you wouldn't believe so it is best if I don't go there and risk exposing the medically frail babies to anything. Daniel finally got the rest of the crib put together so now we just need a mattress for it and we are good to go. Hopefully he'll be home in a couple of weeks. But I am thinking probably more like another month. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

WOW!!! He's gaining...he's up to 3lbs 6oz. They have him on a liter of oxygen still. They also bumped his morphine down to 0.1mg every 6 hours. And his feeds are still at 28cc's every 3 hours. So I got the cc and mL goofed up from last night. But he's doing good and growing like a weed. As far as I know he has to be at least 5lbs before we can bring him home, be able to maintain his body temperature and be able to perform the suck, swallow, and breathing thing. So hopefully he'll be home in a few weeks. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Ok, I'm going to break all of this down for a min since I am desperately trying to clean up my desk, and the rest of the house before he comes home:
04/17/08 Kian was being fed 23 mL of formula every 3 hrs, and was requiring the morphine for the withdrawal symptoms every 6 hrs.
4/18/08 He was on 35-40% Oxygen, was taking 28cc of formula every 3hrs, and weighed 3 lb 4.5 oz.
04/20/08 He weighed 3 lb 4.5 oz and everything else remained the same.
04/21/08 His weight was 3 lb 3oz, they weaned him from 2 Liters of oxygen to 1 liter of oxygen, he was eating 28cc of formula every 3 hrs, and the morphine remained the same.

Here is a quick update!
I called up to the nicu to check on him, and he is doing fantastic! as of about 1:30pm PST, he weighs 1680gm which is around 3lb 11oz. They are feeding him 35cc of formula every 3 hrs, he is still on 1 Liter of room air per hour, and they are taking him completely off the morphine today! The nurse said that if he keeps doing well, they may be able to wean him off the air flow completely in the next couple days or so.
Once he gains some more weight and is able to hold his own body temp, they will take him out of the incubator and put him in a regular crib. All he has to do after that is getting the whole feeding thing from a bottle down, and he will be able to come home. Which reminds me, I need to get back to cleaning!
